Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma is from Joel and it's about bringing work home with you. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. I want to make our home a calm place to be, but there's an issue. We all have workplace gripes and lean on our significant others to vent about them. Still, there has to be time to get away from all of that. When I vent, I try to keep it at 15 minutes…30 max. When my wife does it, it can go on for three hours. With that in mind, let me bounce this off of everyone. How would a “no work talk” period rule go over if I asked for it in the home? In my mind, that would be from like 7:00 through the rest of the night there would be no talking about work allowed. Is that too restrictive and not understanding enough on my part, or is it reasonable to want our home life to be more about us than a job that’s driving us crazy? What do you think? Sometimes we can get caught up in the complaining instead of just letting it go and enjoying where we're at, which is not the place that is making us crazy. I like Joel's idea. What do you think?
