Social Dilemma: Should I Be Answering Work Emails on the Weekend?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Dan and it's about work. Here's his email. Hi Jaime. What do you think about this?  The company I work for has a culture of burning the candle at both ends. I work hard when I’m at work, but when I’m not at work, I turn that all off. I recently got some flak from a coworker for not responding to an email he sent me on a Sunday. I responded on Monday morning and he asked why it took so long. I explained that I don’t respond to work emails on the weekend and he was completely dumbfounded. Am I wrong for ignoring work stuff on the weekends? For context, I work at a bank, so nothing is really life-or-death. Like I said, what do you think? Thanks so much ~ Dan. Well I'm with Dan on this. I do answer some emails after hours, but on the weekend, I really try to stay off my work email. I LOVE my job, but I LOVE my home life too, and you have to have a balance. So I'm with Dan.
