Social Dilemma: Is It Wrong for a Dad To Make Plans for Father's Day?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma is about Father's Day. Here's the email: Hi Jaime, my name is Albert and I love listening to your social dilemmas. So I thought I would ask about an argument my wife and I are having. Father’s day is two weeks away and my two brothers called me and asked if we all wanted to get our families together to celebrate the day. My brother Andy said he’d host the party so I said great and that was that. When I told my wife about the plans she got really mad at me for not calling her first to run the plans by her. She didn’t have a problem with the plans she just wanted to be part of making them.I thought this was crazy and brought up that she’s never asked me if I’m ok with the plans she makes on a regular basis let alone Mother’s Day. She told me it’s different because she should be in charge of Father's Day plans. So was I wrong or is she? What do you think? Thanks so much ~ Albert I'm not quite sure I understand why Albert's wife is upset. I'd be thrilled that he took it up on himself to make the plans and take something off my plate. Unless she had something planned that now has to be cancelled. So do you think Albert should have checked with her first, or was he fine making the plan.
