Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Kelly and it's about a baseball team fundraiser. Here's the email: Hi Jaime. I'm having a big issue with my son's baseball team leaders. My son is on a baseball team and they are doing a car wash fundraiser this week. My son wants to go but I'm not supporting it because it's being hosted in the parking lot of a strip mall that houses a marijuana shop. Is this highly inappropriate or am I the only unreasonable person that feels so strongly against it that I can't allow my son to participate. I messaged the team leaders and this is what they told me. " it is an optional event " Honestly, the dumbest thing they could have said. That was not my point. I don't think the kids should be there at all. Am I way off base, no pun intended. No other parent is objecting. What do you think? Thanks ~ Kelly. Personally I wouldn't be upset by it because I don't think the kids would even care where they were holding the car wash, just that they were able to raise money for their team. I'm not sure why that's where the team leaders decided on, but I'm guessing it's who donated the space. If no other parent is objecting, then I think Kelly got her answer, which is keep her kid home. no harm, no foul. That's my take anyway.
