Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Nina and it's about returning something to Amazon. Here's her email: Hi Jaime, I wanted to get your opinion on something I’m arguing about with my husband. I hope you can use it as your social dilemma. So when my kids do extra errands around the house I give them 20 dollars to order something off of Amazon. About half of the time they get the toy, open it, play with it for about two weeks then want to return it because they don’t like it anymore. So I box it up and return the toy. When my husband got wind of what I was doing he told me to stop returning the toys after the kids played with them. He feels like they are learning they can just return anything and not think about the choices they are making. He feels it will make them not care about other choices in life when they are older and make them not consider consequences. So do you think I’m doing the wrong thing by letting them play with a toy for a few weeks and then returning it? Thanks ~ Nina Well, I'm with Nina's husband with this one. If they opened the package and something was wrong or it was broken, then absolutely return it. But I believe it's absolutely wrong to play with the toy for TWO weeks and then return it. And it is teaching them bad habits. This feels so wrong to me. What do you think? Please let me know on the TRY Jaime in the Morning Facebook page.
